The Solar Power Project
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
Solar power is targeted to improve the quality of life of the impoverished island. The Government only provides six hours of electricity, and the charges are high. Residents need to endure hot weather and mosquitoes. Food will turn rancid quickly because it can only sometimes be stored in fridges. Besides, island schools only operate half a day to prevent hot afternoons.
The family we chose to install the solar pilot project is a Christian and the only one on the island. The panels will absorb solar energy and provide electricity to light bulbs, fans, computers, audio, washing machines, and refrigerators. We expect the missionary and her team to be welcomed into this family, use this place as a hub that neighbors are attracted to, and study the Bible together.
